Music and Feelings

The activity that we did in class with listening to clips of different types of music, and then free drawing whatever we felt from the music at the time, was really interesting. I think that it goes to prove that music really does have an influence on peoples emotions and mind sets. Most of the people in class had flowing, floating and "light" style drawings from the calmer music clips without a heavy beat. While for the Linkin Park clip that had a distinct beat a lot of us had sharp defined shapes or lines. I think that it also goes to show that we all hear the same thing differently. Meaning, that we all heard the same exact clip but interpreted it differently and unique to ourselves. Some heard the bass, some heard the guitar etc. I really like the idea of this activity and actually would like to do research on my own to learn more about this idea or concept, just because I personally love music and its ability and effect on people.

Talking to a Straanger

We get so caught up in out technology and our busy lives we forget there are other people out there. I personally love talking to strangers as long as it doesn't go pass a certain time length, because then it feels like both parties are forcing themselves to think of small chat to fill the spaces. I talked to strangers all weekend at work. When it is slower they take the time to tell me their life stories, this usually comes form the older customers but i have found some of them have awesome knowledge to share with me. ALso, i talked to the toll booth workers at my exits that i traveled this weekend. This may sound weird but some of the toll booth workers are my favorite people to run into. I take the same route every weekend so i have the same people sometimes. They are often are the ones who give me a little compliment that gets me through the rest of my day. I stranger doesn't know us so they don't feel the need to talk you about serious issues or drama , talk between yourself and a stranger is airy and often a good thing for a few min. or seconds.

Second LIfe, is not for me.

Second Life. I think the idea is good for people with disabilities that leave them unable to leave the house that much. It is a way for them to interact in a digital world that represents the real world a little bit. It gives them more than just a blank screen to talk to somebody. However, I thought second life was horrible and I have no plans on ever using it again. I thought it was slow and it slowed my whole computer down. I also thought that it was very time consuming, when for me personally it would have been easier to communicate with people in an easier why. I also thought that second life was very hard to use and was difficult to navigate around. Normally I would try to figure a program out and how it works, but I have no interest in giving any time to this program. Overall, Second Life is not something a would suggest or talk about to others. Second Life was not for me.

The picture I chose to use as my profile picture is actually a picture of a beach in Spain. I took it on a trip i took that has some awesome memories. I chose this one because I was actually just thinking how i need to take a trip soon, and how I am ready for summer and beaches. Also, the beach is one of my favorite places.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/28/technology/companies/28apple.html

This article is all about the newest device brought to us by apple. It is the ipad. It is the newest challenger to the KINDLE. It can also do everything the iphone can do and more. Apple seems to be speeding up with it's technology and ever time we've just finished figuring out how to use our model, a new improved, more compacted one comes out. The ipad has all the options in one.
1) Something to think about is will this new invention really be a competitor to the KINDLE?
2) Is too much too fast a good thing?
